Ok well I just got rid of my winblows machine *heavenly music* :) So now I am looking to get a a MacBook Pro.

I had my mind set on ordering from apple and using my student discount to get the 10% off and a free iPod...But then I notice that taxes almost counter balanced the discount I got with my student discount.

I heard that MacMall was a great place to buy so I looked there and found the same configured MBP for only 50 dollars more (after rebate) than it would cost me at Apple with my student discount, and theres no taxes, so the price would be much better at MacMall, plus the shipping is way faster. ;)

Heres the link, http://www.macmall.com/macmall/shop...Memory, 120GB Hard Drive Notebook-MacBook Pro

So how is the service at MacMall? Do they have a easy return policy (Mostly worried about getting the yellow screen issuee)? Will I get the Apple warranty if I buy from MacMall? Are there any other downsides to ordering from MacMall?

Some more questions:

-Will I get iLife 08 preinstalled on my MacBook Pro?
-Can I combine another 2GB kit of RAM with the factory RAM as long as it is DDR2 667.

I can't wait to get my new Mac, all these years of windows and I am finally switching.

Thanks a ton for the help.

Will you get iLife if buying from macmall? Dunno. If from Apple I would think you would. How is macmall? I hate them but that is because I had a bad experience with them not honoring their advertised price. They were rude, seemingly uneducated about macs in general, and not really customer service driven. As a matter of fact, they said if I do not buy from them then no loss as there are many more people out there that will.

Can you mix ram? As long as it is the same ram but different manufactures then it is ok.

I just read over the reseller reviews on MacMall...scratch that idea, the reviews are horrible

MacMall? NEVER!!

Don't waste your time and money and MacMall. I had nothing but problems. They lied to me about delivery dates three times. I finally cancelled my order. Eveytime I called they said it would go out "next week". I then got a letter from them stating that they didn't know when they could deliver it. I then called them and they said it would ship in 3 days! They don't tell the truth. They also don't honor their rebates. Many people have had problems getting their rebates honored, including myself. Check out epinions.com.

As far as their return policy is, read it on their website. Their return policy is essentially that they don't allow you to return a computer to them. It it comes to you broken, it's up to you to take it back to Apple and get it fixed. Don't waste your money with this company.
