So since yesterday my MacBook Pro C2D has been having weird problems. It would freeze and get a lot of kernel panics. Then it stopped booting off the internal drive, but would boot off an external drive but when it did, it would crash if you physically move the computer a tiny bit. I managed to salvage everything on its harddrive and put it on an external drive. Today I went to the Apple store, and the (annoying as hell) so-called genius tried some things in vain and then decided that I need to leave the computer for in-store repair. So I left it with him. He quoted the repair at 7 days. So, I was wondering if any of you could maybe guess what happened to my MBP. I have no idea what could have caused this. Do these probalems sound familiar to anyone? Also, I was wondering if it were wise to leave the MBP for in-store repair. Is it better to send it to AppleCare through the box they send when you request repair? Is in-store repair known to be worse or less thorough or slower? I'm really worried about my computer, and I need it back ASAP since I have a lot of work to do as the end of the semester nears.
Thanks for the help.
