Hi I just got my first macbook 3 days ago and I need help.

Im trying to transfer a 2gb file to my exfat formatted USB drive. It starts transfering around 50mb then stops. It says “about 2 minutes” but the transfer doesn’t progress. It can easily transfer smaller files like MS word files with no problems.

Tried using the first aid and formatted the drive multiple times in the disk utility. The flash drive works perfectly a week ago with my Windows laptop. Thanks in advance!

edit/update: just tried transferring files to this USB from my windows laptop. Works without any problems. Is this a macbook thing? Am I doing something wrong?

It's not a solution for the long run, but to get things done this one time have you tried formatting the flash drive as FAT32? File size limit would be 4 Gb but that's not a problem here.
