I just bought a Macbook Pro (Matte Screen) about a month ago. What is the best (safest) way to clean off the dust and little marks on the screen. At best buy they sell those monitor/screen wet wipes but are those safe?

Thanks

Buy iKlear from the Apple Store (online or in the store). It's great stuff, cleans everything on the MBP including the mouse and keyboard.

i use monster lcd cleaner you can get it at best buy comes with a microfiber clothe and a bottle of cleaner for about 20 bucks works really well.

I use those wet wipes with no problem. They're really not that wet. I bought mine from Walmart though I'm sure the ones a Best Buy are similar.

I've been using iKlear on my PB for some time, and they work great! Though I've heard, iKlear isn't recommended on GLOSSY screens?!? I just bought one, and I don't know how to clean it then...

Another vote for iKlear. Yes, I know you can find cheaper methods, but iKlear never leaves any residue behind (that I can see) and that's worth the price. Works on my iPhone and iPod too.

ok you go simply to the glasses store..you pick up 1 or 2 of those little cheap cleaning cloths..and you simply rub it softly on the screen..it works great on my ipod,mobile,mbp..

I use iKlear, yeah it's a bit pricey but the bottle of cleaner lasts a good long time, and you can clean more than just the screen with it (don't use it on the trackpad though, it says, just use the dry cloth). It comes with a nice big cloth, as well as a smaller travel size cloth and travel wipes.

I've read that it can leave residue on the glossy ones, but someone said it comes off if you just rub it a lot, and it is considered "polish" so it could be that the glossy ones just require more polishing because they're glossy (makes sense to me).

Another vote here for iKlear. iKlear is a great product. It does indeed clean everything on the MBP very well. Infact, I also use iKlear to clean my iPhone with no problems... looks fantastic when done :)

I 2nd the Monster LCD cleaner. Best Buy sell it. You can get it with or without the microfiber cloth for future purchases

It works great for cleaning the screen and the entire MBP

If you are a cheap SOB then mix a 3 to 1 ration of water to Isopropyl alcohol (cheap SOBs!!)

Don't know where you read that. I use iKlear on my glossy screen and it works a treat...

If I just bought a chamois cloth from the supermarket, and some water (perhaps with diluted soap) would that work?

Seems a bit pricey for what it is. I have a macbook btw.

I was wondering the same thing. My wife was using it and decided to sneeze all over the screen without covering her nose. I gave her this look like..."are you serious?" Then my 3 yr old came up and spit on the screen while she was using it.
