Nekteck 100W USB C ChargerWhat power supply and cable are you using?
It does this with the Apple chargers as wellI've seen that with third party chargers. I think they sometimes work but don't provide the "something" that the MacBook is looking for.
no because it doesn't do this with my friend 14"/M1I'm presuming the third-party charger has something to do with the issue the OP is having. In my case, however, I'm using the power brick and cable that came with my MacBook M1 Air.
I got a new USB C cable and the repeating charging sound when off is fixed.Have you tried resetting anything to fix this?
I'm thinking mostly about the SMC because that controls power management and it is possible that a reset of the SMC might be the solution.
New cable fixed this issueI have the same issue with my M1 MacBook Air. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does I simply unplug it and then plug it back in a bit later. I've never been able to pinpoint what causes the problem. Hopefully others who have experienced this can shed some light.
Glad you were able to resolve it. I'll have to try a new cable.New cable fixed this issue
I got the Anker USB-C to USB-C Cable 100W Fast ChargingGlad you were able to resolve it. I'll have to try a new cable.
I had similar problem with a 3rd party cable as well. It's weird ... I've had bad cables more in the last few years than all the years I've ever used computers. Last few years I've had several bad cables. One that melted on my lap... one that did what the post here says... and one that just died and refused to charge.
Now, sadly, I'm relying on super expensive Apple cables for the most part.
I've noticed that most of my 3rd party USB C cables top out at around 60w.
