Hello!
I have a 2018, 13-inch, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports MacBook Pro. Its dislpay started to have purple and blue stripes a few months ago, and now the display remains black when I open it. It has some backlight and with an external display it works normal. I've read many articles about 2016 MacBooks having the problem similar than this and they needed to replace the complete display, but I've also read that there was some changes in the 2018 MacBooks. Is there any chance that my Mac needs only a cable replacement (or some less expensive repair :D )? Thanks!

Do you have a brick-n-mortar Apple Store anywhere near?
If so, make an appt. with the genius bar and take it to them.

Of course I will. I was just curious about what to expect. E.g. did they make any changes that would make the cable change more easy. But thanks for your answer :)

Have a similar problem with same machine. Closed the laptop, re-opened it and the bottom 2 cm area, as well as the right 5 cm area show just a bunch of random lines. Another problem with this macbook Pro (13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) is this: regularly, the machine shuts down all of a sudden and then reboots.
