MacBook Pro + External Speakers

I have the 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro and I am getting the Logitech X540 5.1 Speaker System shipped to me within a few days. I am wondering what exactly I will need to connect it and get 5.1 sound. Is there a built in sound card or do I need an external one, etc. Thanks for the help.

It's like hooking up headphones to the laptop. Connect the jack into the headphone jack.
