So I'm a Dj using serato...in the past I had my new music in the music folder and I used to sort it by date added (or date created)...

However I since have gotten a different MacBook pro and on this one I created a folder within the music folder to put my new music....however I cannot sort any new music (or new files of any kind) because anytime I use a file, it goes to the top of the file created list...almost as if it is being sorted by date modified...

So for example I can download a new song today, but if I play a song that has been on my laptop for years, that song will go to the top of the list when sorted by "date created"...which is obviously not the case...can someone plz help me fix this...if I'm not clear on the problem, let you know

on the land line mr. smith.
So....you have tried changing the sort order in the Finder I assume....and it did not work? If that is the case:

You might try deleting the .ds_store file in the folder to set it back to the default view, and then try changing the folder view preferences again (including sort order).

Good info here....just skip the part about the app they are hawking and use the Terminal instruction.
