Happy new Mac day! I am trying to determine the best configuration for my 14 in. Pro. Specifically, whether or not the jump from 8 to 10-core CPU is worth the extra 200. I mostly write electronic music, with a heavy focus on synthesizers and lots of DSP effects plug-ins. I am coming from a 2016 15 in. Pro with a quad-core Intel i7 2.9GHz, which is strained pretty hard in Ableton. Should I pull together the extra cash for the 10-core model? Thanks!

This might be better posted in the dedicated Macbook Pro forum ??

You had better be sure Ableton and any other software you use is compatible with the new m1pro CPU before you buy. Or else you could end up with a beautiful new MacBook that won't run the software you need...!
