The past two times i have used my computer it has froze while surfing the web and only surfing the web. I have a hunch that it may be due to the recent airport update because i never had problems before. now my computer sometimes wont connect and i have to restart. or if i close the lid and let it sleep then open it and the internet will connect. when it freezes the spinning circle only appears when i bring the cursor to the upper right of the finder bar. and when i try to restart it freezes on blue shutdown screen with time, battery, airport and bluetooth finder menus still visible. Only fix I have found is a hard shutdown. Has anyone had similiar experiences? Any suggestions as to what i should do? Should i update to 10.4.9 and see if that fixes it? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Don't do the 10.4.9 update until you have resolved your current problem, it might fix it, it might make it a whole lot worse! Have you done the basic fun stuff like running Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions? Or booting from your install CD and running Repair Disk? Or booting in Safe Mode? If the problem seems related to your Airport, then hose your Network preferences, all of them, and create a new location.

Delete your user, and system caches, and repair your disk permissions. If the problem is still occuring download and run Applejack. If you are still having issues try an archieve reinstall of the system, or buy Disk Warrior. Any issues after that are either with the partition on the hardware of the computer, and should be taken in to a service center, and will be covered under AppleCare. YOU DID BUY APPLECARE, RIGHT???

System UI server not responding

So while the computer wheel was spinning in the upper right hand corner and safari frozen i went to the activity utility and one of the processes was the "System UI Server" ( Not Responding) process id (83) parent process loginwindow(66). If that gives any more info as to the cause/solution to my problem. i dont know what it means. also, im fairly new to macs and do not know how to repair disk permissions. also i am out of town and dont have my cds guess i will have to wait till i get home maybe it wont do it with my router still wanna fix it though. any info on the system ui would be great. Thanks
