Macbook pro hard drive into Mac Mini?

Hi there, long time lurker, first time poster.

My 2011 macbook pro recently got destroyed by liquid damage but the 750GB hard drive is still intact and fully functional.

Is it possible to use this hard drive to replace the existing 120GB Serial ATA drive that my Mac Mini has? The mac mini is one of the old 1.83 Intel Core Duo CTO machines which was bought in 2007.

Should be no problem, they would both be SATA HDD's, and both 2.5".

Ah. thanks for the speedy (and helpful) response. I hoped they would be the same size, was just worried if there were any unknown compatibility issues (and I'll need to google the palette knife technique of opening up the mac mini!).

Seemed like a good way of using what is now going to be a spare hard drive otherwise

Sounds like a good upgrade to me. I just opened up my 2012 Mini to install a second drive, it was much easier than I expected. Good luck.

Yes, this is possible. I actually just did the exact same thing last night. I installed the 320GB SATA HD from my 2011 MBP in the 2007 Core 2 Duo Mac mini I recently bought from a friend. Works like a charm and the installation was not difficult.
