Hello,

I was under the impression that the MacBook Pro's were going to use a new type of battery (Li-Poly). I removed the battery and added some RAM and noticed that the battery said "Li-Ion" on it. Does anyone elses say this?

I actually posted this in another thread, but i'll put it here too...I took a picture of the battery and it does indeed say Li-ion...

Picture was taken with the isight because i can't find my regular camera's usb cable, hence the poor quality, but I think it gets the point across...

Li-Poly is short for Lithium Ion Polymer, not just Lithium Polymer as most people reasonably assume. For far more information than you ever wanted to know about battery chemistry, read this Wikipedia article.

Whether that means that the MBP battery is really Li-Poly or not remains to be seen, but just because it is labeled "Li-Ion" doesn't preclude it from being a Li-Poly.
