I want to buy a macbook pro. I'm not concerned with the next release so don't bother posting if your going to complain that I'm asking "to buy now or not" If I'm going to buy one its going to be this week before school starts.

What I'm more concerned about is the recent models. Has there been improvements on the issues most threads talk about? What are still some problems with current models.

Has anyone recently gotten a MBP? If so, how is it running so far.

One last thing- What is better- online or store. Does it matter?

Thank you for your opinions

I have a week 26 MBP w/glossy screen. No moo no whine, but it does get hot when not used on a hard flat surface.

You shouldn't rely on anecdotal opinions alone. As you may already know, Apple is rated #1 in service and support. Buy your new machine with confidence. If you're in the 1-2% group with problems, come back here and we'll help you out.

I am totally satisfied with my new MBP and you will be too. It is a great tool for any serious student.

I can tell you that you might wanna at least put a gig of ram in it. I have 2 gigs coming by September. Online is great because you don't have to leave the house. If you want to sit in the driver's seat, hit up your local Apple store and give the MBP a test run. I ordered online.

I got my MBP three weeks ago. It runs beautifully. It gets a little warm but nothing unbearable and definitely nothing that can harm you. It's great!
