Hi i currently have the mbp with the 512mb 330m and I have the working 197.16 nvidia installed from laptopvideo2go. However it seems like there are other drivers (257... 258...) and I was wondering if I should update.

For those that have the same mbp, do you use any of the new versions? And if so, how is the performance? (Please list the exact nvidia driver version. thank you!)

I'm not using any drivers other than the Boot Camp ones and I'm very pleased with performance.

EDIT: I'm assuming you're referring to the Windows side of performance and gaming...

Yes, sorry im on the 32-bit windows 7 ultimate. to my understanding, the bootcamp drivers are not good for gaming performance. I'm not sure if you've noticed maybe i'm wrong though

Once I went with Nvidia's drivers for Windows, there was a decent amount of performance gain over the Boot Camp drivers. I'd say there's no harm in updating. Currently running the 257 one that was released a few weeks ago and have yet to encounter any problems.

I playmuliple FPS PC games with BootCamp on two MBP computers. Early 2008 MBP 2.6GHz and a 2010 i7 MBP 2.67GHz each with 4Mb RAM. Play is mostly at the high settings and I usually turn off anti aliasing and high grade sounds. I use the Mac drivers that were installed with v3.1 BootCamp.

Don't update to the newest drivers yet. They're pretty messed up. With some thought not ALL games, my card would literally just go haywire. Random dots all over the screen, artifacting, overheating. This was even after I exited the game. That was all fixed when I just reinstalled the 197.45 drivers which I'm using currently.

Just wait until nvidia gets some stable drivers out then upgrade.

yeah I am currently using 257.37 and it's okay I guess. I'm happy i dont have problems.

Wonder how people are able to install those 257... and 258... drivers. I get error messages all the time (MBP i7, 330m 512MB, Windows 7 Professional 64bit). Even when I use those from LaptopVideo2Go with the modified .inf. Am I missing something important? Currently I am on 197.16...
