Apple has leapfrogged most of the industry with RAM -- virtually all high end Wintel laptops have a maximum 533 MHz DDR-2 SODIMM memory architecture.
With this model, Apple have signed the death warrant for modems and PCMCIA in Macs. Dropping of Firewire 800 will be troubling to Mac users doing digital audio and video.
Edit: (credit to Escher) Apple have obviously had their fill of replacing power supplies and Powerbook AC jacks because of broken cords and cracked solder joints internally, so the magnetically attached AC power plug is a good idea. Points to Apple for being the first company to come up with something different here.
