Umm... so yea i get my macbook pro week 36, samsung matte and as soon as i start it up, the dreaded yellow screen comes up and i am like ohhh shiyt!

After tons of time spent on calibrating the screen , i was able to console myself to get used to the slight tinge on the screen forever.... two days pass and there's a ****ing dead pixel on the screen and the second one right after, tried using pixel fixer and other shiyt, but no avail.

Called apple care, put me thru to the technician told him my story and he said he was ready to fix the screen, so he called up the service centre in London, Canada and i get a call from one of the service rep in less than 15 minutes after the call with apple care, that they are gonna replace the screen and are going to order the part...In the meantime i can keep using my laptop and it will be repaired in 24 hours, which is awesome imo....
I've usually heard people go wthout a lappy for 10 days if they choose to get it repaired!
Guess i'm lucky!
so yea i was pretty surprised by the responsiveness of apple care, which lead me to believe that Apple care does CARE;)

I am happy:D

good to hear

its good to hear of a positive review of applecare... hopefully i won't have an issue requiring it but your post makes me feel a bit better for if i were to have one

Glad that worked out for you. I've had good luck with AppleCare as well.

Doesn't it bother you, though, a $2500 laptop needing repair right out of the box?

Dude, dont even ask how i felt when i saw the yellowing on the screen i opened it the first time:mad:..... the technician who inspected my mbp said its under spec with slight yellowing, so i was like wtf?...why didnt i just get a regular pc..thats when he said, that call apple and bitch, bitch, bitch until they will send you a replacement or something!

he also mentioned that this has been an issue in the new stock, but considered within spec!

I wonder what the hell goes on in Apple's QC section in china:confused:

Apple "spec" is a moving target. Once an issue reaches a pre-determined "critical mass", most companies issue a product recall. Apple, on the other hand, just declares the issue to be "within spec". I've never encountered a company less willing to admit a mistake. Ultimately, they'll do the right thing (e.g., your AppleCare experience)---but often only after sending the customer through so many hoops that s/he leaves with a really bitter taste of the brand.
