Like mentioned in the title. My MBP latch is very sensitive. I shut the lid and place it in my backpack and sometimes it opens on it self. Same think happen if I let it sit at the bed sometimes. The lid just pops open by it self.

The MBP is not bend and neither is the lid. I'm very careful with handling this machine.

My question is how strong is the latching mechanism suppose to be?

maybe you should get a case to put it in your backpack to help keep in closed when you are moving around?

The thing is I don't even have to move around just placing the MBP in the backpack (notebook backpack) unlatches the lid.

If the latch release is being cought on it's way in, your screen is going to open regardless how well you handle the laptop when placing it in the bag. I would recommend getting a laptop bag or case to place your laptop in as most of them come with strapes inside the case/bag to hold your laptop in place.

If you have an Apple Store nearby, bring it to the Genius bar. I'm guessing it's a small problem with alignment, which they can probably fix for no charge.

I think that's what I'm going to do on Monday afternoon. Bring it by the Genius Bar and have them take a look at it.

I think either the alignment or the latch is out of wack.
