Hi there,

We are using Late 2013 MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 1

Any ideas on how to connect and what are the best cables to use..

LG 49WL95C-W 49-Inch Monitor

2x Audio interfaces with Thunderbolt 3 connectors

Reading about Thunderbolt cables they come with different specs, some are 20GBps and 60watts and some are 40GBps with 100watts

We've never used Thunderbolt cables

and would appreciate your assistance
..

Thank you

If the monitor will run (only) at 1080p, connect via HDMI. Connect each of the audio interfaces to an Apple TB2 to TB3 cable plugged into the 2 TB2 ports on the MBP.

Caveat: if the audio interfaces require bus power from TB3, you'll need to power them discretely, if possible, or insert a powered device into each chain. The latter means buying something like a disk enclosure from OWC that has TB3 passthrough and it's own dedicated power supply. This is an expensive option and might be less expensive to buy a more recent MBP as a result.

Check the specs of the audio interfaces, but you'll probably need only the "slowest" cables and since the TB2/TB3 adapter doesn't carry power, the power capability is irrelevant.

Hope this helps.
