Hey guys, so i own a late 2013 MacBook Pro 13 inch and just updated to MacOS Big Sur 11.6.3 and noticed the mac is suddenly using too much of CPU on opening apps like safari and it's heating up fairly easily. Not sure whats causing it but are any of you facing this same issue? Know fixes that don't involve any long procedures like having to reset the OS and stuff?

Yeah, I have a 2013 13" too, and I stay on Catalina because Big Sur is almost unusable on it, it's just so slow and crash way too much.
I know you said you don't want to reset the OS, but quite frankly that's the only option I see.
Make a Catalina install USB, reinstall Catalina and stay on it.
Big Sur is crap.

Same here. After update to 11.6.3 and Safari 15.3, Safari causes the CPU to max out and the machine grinds to a halt.
2020 Intel MBA. The issue for me is specifically caused by opening Safari. The machine is fine until then.

Have sent logs etc to Apple.
