Just wondering if this is a new issue or not:

I run gmail notifier in Safari and if I close my laptop and it goes to sleep, it locks up and will not wake. I have to hard-boot it to get it going again. Is this a gmail notifier issue or do you have to really close all your programs before closing your laptop. Thanks in advance!

I do not close programs when closing the lid (and invoking a sleep). I don't run the gmail notifier, but I often leave many programs running. Try closing down gmail notifier and invoking a sleep to see if that's the problem, otherwise it's something else (and not normal).

Second, does it not-wake-up only after closing the lid to sleep? What happens if you let it sleep-by-time-out?
