hey all, having a sudden weird issue with my new M1 MBP. I was listening to some music on Apple Music though my AirPods Pro, and they cut out, which was odd but whatever. The weird thing was even though they still said connected, I couldn’t get anything to play through them, VLC movie, Music etc. Ok, maybe this was a glitch so I’ll reboot. Well it booted straight into Recovery mode, and now it’s only booting into recovery mode...

Anyideas what happened? I’ve been using it fine for days, at the time of reboot my battery was around 70%, had a few safari tabs open, movie on pause in VLC and was playing music through Apple Music, and finally had Scrivener open.

I haven’t received any errors or weird messages, nor has any weird behaviour happened up until this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

**EDIT

Update: Since it kept booting into recovery mode, I finally just entered the password for my account it wanted. It then restarted and booted into MacOS as normal. I've never seen this behaviour before, I do have Filevault turned on, but I've had Filevault turned on with all my Macs and never been required to boot into recovery to enter my password first.

Maybe turn fileVault off for a short while and see how things go?
Also Big Sur might have some problems with FileVault but that's unproven as yet as far as I'm aware.
