MacBook Pro M1 has ten years old battery?

I just received my MacBook Pro M1 with 16GB Ram and I wanted to see the performance of the battery. I used battery health and coconut apps. They both showed me my battery is ten years old?

I checked the battery code of the MBP M1 is same as the battery from the 2009 MBP.

I know all these apps are not designed for the M1.

What do you think?

I wouldn't worry about it
Apple don't generally put 10 year old batteries in new models. And not many 10 year old batteries will have just 1 cycle count on them.
It could be something to do with Apple re-using serial numbers or something like that.
If I put my serial number (M1 MBA) into any of the serial number checkers for Macs it says I have a 2011 Mac Pro or something. Clearly not right

Probably product code and serial number overlapping. And the apps assume, I am using a 10 years old batter with 18-hour performance ?

I didn't notice as well. I ordered with a 16GB RAM, I wasn't expecting this level of freshness.

By the way, I installed a M1 compatible app, the battery is manufactured in 2021.

My M1 battery was made in November 2020.

Coconut battery says my battery was 6 weeks old when they put it in my M1 MBA but I doubt that tbh.
Most I've seen have been about 2 weeks old or less.

I installed this one and everything looked normal.

Intel based monitoring tools don't work on M1s.

Hmm...

So either (a) Apple had a giant stock pile of ten year old batteries and designed the M1 computers to fit those batteries, or (b) the apps are misreading something and providing incorrect data.

Problem is solved. Intel based batter monitoring apps can't produce correct information on M1s.
