I’m looking at upgrading my MacBook 2017 to either MacBook Pro 13 M2 16gb /w 1TB - $1,575 or the MacBook Pro 14in 18gb 512gb hd…

The MacBook Pro M2 is a refurb from Apple. My guess is the M2 is a better value. Am I correct on this?

Thanks

All depends on what your needs are (and what the price of the M3 model is). But I’d say you’re likely correct. Unless you do hardcore video rendering, I don’t think you’re going to see much of difference between them (notice Apple compared to M1 models, not M2 models).

You do lose MagSafe with the M2 but you gain the Touchbar!

Performance wise you're unlikely to notice a difference between the two. Differences will be in the design. M3 has a much better screen, better web cam, ports like MagSafe, HDMI, SD Card Reader and actual function keys instead of a TouchBar.

Your point about the display is a good one. I have an M2 14 inch and the pro display XDR style screen is incredible.
