I wanted to switch back to a MacBook Pro after using a Mac Mini (2018) for several years, but I'm unsure if it will be powerful enough for my current workflow. Currently, I do light work on the Mac Mini and then edit videos in CapCut using a PC with a Ryzen 3800X, an Nvidia 3070, and 32 GB of RAM.
My plan is to have some flexibility and not work in the office all day. I've tried working remotely with Parsec, for example, but it's not ideal. So the idea is to use a MacBook Pro and unify all my work on it.
I haven't been able to find benchmarks for CapCut, and I'm not sure what to expect from Apple's GPU compared to the 3070. The videos I usually edit are relatively long Minecraft sessions, 20-30 minutes, where I add some effects and subtitles. I don't think there will be any problem while editing, but I'm mostly concerned about exporting since I produce several videos daily. On average, I get 1 minute of export time for every 3 minutes of video. Everything is in 1080p and 60fps.
Ideally, I would like to achieve similar or even better performance, so it would be an upgrade from what I have. If anyone wants to test on their MacBook Pro, even if it's an Air (though the Pro might be overkill), I would greatly appreciate it.
