Macbook Pro m4 base and Pro supports 2 external and the laptop screen open?

So in total it is 3 or does the laptop screen needs to be closed. I hear one of them supports 120hz while another is at 60 only? Is there a way to support both at 120hz so less flickering for gaming? Thx
