Hi, I have an old 6,2 mid 2010 MacBook pro 17" screen that still runs great. It has an i7 2.66ghz processor and I was just wondering, has anyone been able to get beyond the 8GB ram limitation? I was able to successfully upgrade it to Ventura with OpenCore. 8GB now a days isn't much to play with. I was hoping to get it to boot with 16GB which didn't work and then tried 1 stick of 8GB and 1 stick of 4GB which also didn't work. Is there anyways around this? I've read people being able to install windows and it reading the 16GB. Thanks to anyone with info.

It will detect 16GB in both macOS and Windows, however after a few minutes the system will lock up and kernel panic. Multiple people have tried this and reported the same results:

You are stuck at 8GB if you want a working computer.
Thank you for letting me know.
