Hello peeps, I've just got me a new MacBook Pro after up grading from a 12" PowerBook.
I've had it for like 3 weeks and only used it for 1 of them (went on holiday) I got back home to find the Battery is dead... (I think I turned it off) put that aside, after booting it back up and after a quick update, I found that I can't download the EMI Firmware 1.3.
Also, I had my Book powered like 98% and watched like 40 mins of a DVD last night before bed, I closed the book to enable sleep mode and when I go to open it in the morning I find that the battery is dead!
So I go to plug it in the wall to turn it on and it gets stuck on the start screen with the flower spinning.
Lucky me I live near an Apple Store, so I pop in to ask for help and they book me in for Thursday. I need this issue sorted now.
My diagnostic: when I had my PowerBook there was this key you press at the start up to get into a (BIOS mode) where I can re-calibrate the battery... or is it a set of buttons I press? well I came across it some time and now I've lost the information.
Last but not least: about the boot up I managed to get it working using the CD supplied, and went to 'Repair' my HDD when doing so I got some errors coming up and a message telling me it cannot repair. I don't mind re-installing but I want to know if you people thing the issue can be resolved by doing that?
Thanks for any suggestions, x
