Hi all,

I bought a refurbished MBP from Apple 2 months ago (early October). The overall condition of it was near perfect and the battery life is great. I’ve been using coconut battery just for tracking purposes since I find it quite interesting to see how the battery fares over time.

Since the past month or so, my battery has dropped from 4834 mAh (original capacity: 4790 mAh) to around 4660 mAh.

As seen in one of the pictures, it dropped from 4817 mAh to 4673 mAh on 16/11 - 17/11 and ever since it’s stayed somewhere around the latter capacity. I don’t really do any CPU intensive tasks - I usually just watch Netflix, YouTube, some very brief emails as well as running a VM but not all at the same time.

I also notice that when watching Netflix in full screen show some flashing green streaks almost like a glitch of some sort but goes away after a few seconds - it’s also done this while booting up before, it showed some glitchy screen before it gets to the login.

Should this be a cause for concern?

For god sake why most new Apple user so pathetic. Just use that MacBook. That battery acting normal. It just a machine, so treat it as a toy not the precious ring in the Lord of the Ring. LoL

The battery on my 13 was around 97 percent a month after I purchased it (cycle 13). And was back at 100% after a few months (cycle 40). Right now its around 96. I expect it to stay above 90% for many years so other than an occasional check when I'm bored, I don't worry about it. My previous MacBook's Pro have all been in the 90% range when I sold them after a few years.

is normal. if you pay too much attention to the percentage will make you crazy. leave it alone and use much as you can. now matter how you pamper that battery it will still degrade over time. so just enjoy it.

In regards to the battery (not the other part), this is completely normal. These statistics are usually not very accurate, they can fluctuate, and the best estimation of battery health IMO should be runtime.

There are certainly actions you can take to extend the service life of the battery, but IMO one should not modify their usage habits so much that it causes an inconvenience.
