Does anyone have the upgraded 2.4Ghz ntb w/ 16GB of RAM? I am curious about your battery life and your experience with Xcode and Web development or playing Civ5/6. It's very specific, I realize, but there is little information online about this configuration.
I currently have the 13in tbMBP and it's inadequate for a few reasons. First, I don't need a CPU with a 3Ghz baseline. I'm more than happy using less power and waiting a little longer for code to compile. Second, I loathe the Touch Bar. It's like a little animating banner ad in the periphery of my vision and it's distracting every time I switch to a different app. I cannot control its brightness or its display and I can only switch it to a static set of controls, in which case, what's the point of it anyway? And third, the battery is now something I actually have to think about. As an MBA owner, I've forgotten what the battery was unless I was playing a game on the train. Even then, I could get a couple of hours of low-framerate fun.
Rant over. I do love the new Macs, though. Great size, keyboard, touchpad, screen and speakers. Beautiful machines with unfortunate compromises in the 13in model.
If you can help answer the questions above, that would be very appreciated. Cheers.
