Found a MacBook Pro I might be interested in. Seller said that it was charging much slower than normal, and it comes with a charger for a MacBook (not Pro). Could this be why it's charging slower?

Thank you!

They are two different wattage (MB = 60watt MBP = 85watt) and while you can connect a MB adapter to the MBP, it either doesn't charge (but will power) or doesn't perform as expected. That configuration is not recommended. It's $79 US to buy the correct one.

Cheers,

yes charging a MBP with a MB charger will definately make it charge slower seeing as the MB charger is 65 watts while the MBP is 80 watts. if you charge your MBP with the MB charger, you would want to make sure that you charge the MBP while its either asleep or shut down.

another reason why might be because of a faulty battery? have not heard of a case like that but it could be a battery problem as well. you should find out how old the MBP is and how much use the battery has had
