i need a replacement battery for my Macbook Pro (15 inch late 2011) - it's still the original battery and it lasts about 15 minutes on a full charge.

what's the cheapest reliable replacement unit to get ?

Hi buddy. I bought a SLOVA one on Amazon this time last year and it's been very good. Excellent reviews at the time & I really did my homework on it. Not a true Apple recommended battery sadly.
What I will say is, it truly shows the absolute quality of Apple sourced components. Mine lasted 6 years with 2300 charges before it wore out.
I get the impression my current one by Slova won't last that long though. It's already dropping a little. Gives 3.5hours whereas it goes 4 to 4.5 when new. But then it was £45.
Given the change, i'd of bought a true Apple approved battery but as my MacBook was discontinued/obselete Apple had no battery to sell me.

Just bought an Ankon replacement battery for my non-retina 2012 MBP 13". Apparently(...), it's from SMP which is the same brand as the battery that was originally installed in the mac. Looking good so far. Don't know if they have one for your model, but you can check on Amazon, which is where I got mine.
