Hey all!
I have a late 2013 model 13-inch Macbook Pro with Retina display that has started giving me problems. The backlight on the keyboard if it works at all (big if) is constantly flickering. Is this a known issue? Does anyone have any fixes? Basic things like resetting the SMC unchecking "adjust keyboard brightness in low light" have no worked for me. I hear Apple will likely want to replace the whole top case for me to "fix" this issue which would run me around 300 bucks with labor and all. I am hoping there might be another fix or someone can even explain WHY it is doing this. The replacement of the top case kind of seems like a "we don't know what the issue is, but if we replace it all it'll probably fix it" type deal. I know these Retinas are notoriously hard to work on, or so I hear. Any input or general advice would be appreciated.
