I bought a Macbook Pro on 10/30/2007 with 160gb Hard drive @ 7200 and then 2 days later Apple (Steve) drops the bomb with 200gb HD @ 7200 for the same price. I do not care for the speed bump .20 for $250. I bought this from an Apple Store and I know Apple has 14 day return policy. Can I just walk in and return/exchange the MBP to the store even if it does not have a major problem.
I do have some minor issue like the cursor and trackpad stops responding quite frequently. Other than that my 17" MBP lid does seem little uneven this is noticeable only when the lip is shut and the left side of the screen seems raised than the right side.

Please let me know what my options are or anyone of you had this happen to you and got an exchange.

if you spend that much n a computer and it not perfect then take it back! then but a new one :p

For the 7200rpm upgrade, the 200gb ($200) is not the same price as the 160gb ($150) was.

The lid closure is likely normal.

The trackpad 'may' be cause for concern.

You normally can't return CTO machine unless there
is something wrong with it. So, you will need to prove
something is wrong with the machine to be able to return
it. The retail stores do not carry CTO configurations.

Be aware that there is a 2-3 week lead time on the 200gb HDD, so
you likely wouldn't actually receive the machine until the
1st week of december...

Sounds like a lot of work/hassle for a measly 40gb unless there is really something
wrong with your machine (ie trackpad), than definately have
it swapped out.

I think a lot of us are in the same boat. Pending my replacement coming in with a bright and shiny (non yellow) screen, I'm just getting an external drive to compensate and to do back ups. Honestly, by the time you get a new one with the 200G drive, Macworld will be around the corner and the speed bumps will be outdated. If you computer has issues, by all means return it, but I wouldn't bother with the hassle if its over 40 Gigs. :)
