In case anyone was wondering what the real cause of the random shutdown is on Macbook PROs is...

On the thermal sensor connected to the heat pipe there is a piece of tape which is placed over the thermal sensor and the wire taping the wire to the heat pipe. The close proximity (i.e. direct contact) of the wire to the heat pipe is causing the random shut downs.

Cutting the tape and placing it below the wire instead of above the wire has caused the RSD to stop completely for me. It's been almost 24 hours now without any shut downs at all. Coming from a consistency of between one or two an hour... just in perspective.
