It's frustrating to see the MacBook Pros get cheaper and cheaper... unless you need a larger SSD! It was always obscenely expensive to get 4-8tb of SSD, but now with the discounts it's literally TWICE as much! </rant>
Anyone know a workaround to this?

"Anyone know a workaround to this?"

Get a small external USB3.1 gen2 SSD (such as the Crucial X9), and "move off" the stuff you don't access much onto it.

Keep the internal SSD as "lean and clean" as possible.

Not much you can do, unless you try to snag one on a back to school sale or for the holidays before they come out with the 'new' model. But you could also go back and try to find a M2 with a lot of storage.

Personally I'd get an external drive and just put the bulky stuff there
