Did you use the "correct" brightness? It's very important that it's three bars from maximum (quite bright), and not minimum. If so, good thing you don't suffer from the flicker!

I've got the flicker too. Don't worry, you don't notice it during regular use.
Last week I came across the same issue on some mailing list, and they claimed the early Sony LED-backlit laptops suffered the same thing. After an update (I thought they said a BIOS-update) the issue was gone. So I guess Apple will resolve it too. In the meanwhile, suck it up :)

Actually, that's the problem. I do notice it during regular use. The gray color comes from a forum, and it bothered me a lot while reading there.

I have a Dell monitor (2007WFP) that flickers like crazy on a certain pattern, but fortunately it's not something I notice during normal use.

I could always hope for that, but I'm not really sure I want to gamble like that. I'll probably end up returning it for a new one, but if it's a software issue, that won't really go anywhere. The responses here indicate that it's a hardware issue though.

Flicker Mostly in uppler left

I noticed this when I first started the system for the very first time... The flicker is exactly around the brightness level everyone has described (3 or 4 from MAX).

I seem to be pretty lucky and have minimal flicker compared to others... so I think I will wait a while to ask for a replacement (I also bought the 3 year plan) to see if there are any other "kinks" that need to be worked out first.

Otherwise I LOVE my Macbook Pro!

Is it possible to be a software-based issue when some computers have the same issue and others don't? I do have a pronounced flicker, and it is very bothersome, especially when the automatic dimmer is turned on, which would have have been very nice otherwise.

I noticed flicker on my screen when I was setting it up. However, I have yet to notice it again. I do see a faint flicker on the image, but only at that brightness level. It really isn't a big deal for me, I have notice much larger problems than this on laptops.

They're sending me a new MBP. Hopefully it was a hardware issue and the new one will function properly. :)
