MacBook Pro shadowy edge

I have 5 days left to decide if I want to return this laptop. Overall, it’s great - it just has shadowy edges, especially toward the top of the right side. I’ve heard this is normal somewhat - is mine worse than normal? I don’t want to play the screen lottery if this is common.

I believe it's normal. Here's mine for comparison, all edges have the shadow. It's a bit more visible IRL than in the photo, but you don't really notice it when using the thing.

Yours doesn't look bad. I had to dim my photo to try show the shadow that's visible to the naked eye, but not so much with a phone camera.

I think it also depends on the lighting conditions. My room is much brighter today than it was yesterday, and the shadow is much more visible than in my photo.
