i bought mbp 2.66 ghz 512 mb geforce 9600 4 gb ram

and there are occasional hick ups in youtube videos
(every 30 seconds u can notice a very small hickup)
(especialy HD)

it's not that bad... but it's just something u don't want to see on a new laptop.

is this my problem or do other mbp users experience this when they run safari 4 on mbp?

btw: how do i test my hardware on mac os X?

How fast is your connection/what router are you using?

Have you tested Youtube on Firefox?

I have some problems loading HD videos too, but I know it had more to do with my internet connection.

i don't think so, cause my internet loading speed goes faster than the play speed.

but it's surprising how each time there's 30 seconds between hick up

i'll try firefox

post a link to a specific video and note the time(s) of the HICCUP(s) if you want others to test.

It's not the video or the site for sure, as it plays just fine on my HP laptop. It sure sounds like a buffering issue on your client.

I have a lower spec'ed MBP and have zero hiccups in any YouTube video. Keep in mind that Flash is VERY demanding on Macs because the d-bags at Adobe don't bother optimizing it. Don't try to run other intensive programs at the same time or other Flash videos or applications.
