I couldn't find my particular scenario discussed anywhere, so wanted to know if anyone else has encountered this dilemma...

I use my 16 inch M1 pro MBP as a Logic Pro music machine with an external monitor in my studio. I have USB audio interfaces plugged in, so when I put the computer to sleep for any length of time, the peripherals are still active via the USB, and I end up draining the battery after a few days. I have to turn off the power to it, as I have speakers and other modules to power down, and rather than have everything separately switched, I just turn of a couple of power boards. It is a pain to have to keep unplugging the peripherals everytime I put it to sleep. Ideally, I'd like to be able to just power the Mac down with everything else, but as M1 don't have that function in clamshell mode anymore, I'm stuck with sleep and draining batteries.

Yes, the MBP continues to power the usbs in sleep mode. I use that to my advantage as the MBP is asleep but I'm still charging my phone

I'm on ventura, and in all honesty, I'm struggling to see what options there are. Seems like they over complicated System Settings and took away more options

there
I noticed something that never happened before in my MacBook experiences.

Last night I power off my MacBook Air, M1 and realized I had 29% on the watch
when I plugged that into the MBA, nothing happened, so I used a USBc charger.
I would always plug in an iPod or something into my older MacBooks and get a charge.

is this a Ventura-M1 thing? now im thinking maybe the chord was not pushed in all the way.
