I have been buying space black since it has been offered. Back in the day I had a silver powerbook g4 and am thinking of going back to silver. Assuming apple sticks with space black and silver what color will your next MacBook Pro be?

I miss Space Gray, that was the best MBP color ever.

Silver I think is the second best choice. Mine is sliver and I think it looks sleek and elegant, even if it’s not quite as perfect as space gray. Unlike some people here, I actually really like the contrast between the silver top case and the black keyboard inlay. Silver does show fingerprints more than you might think in certain lighting, but they’re easily wiped off.

I agree Space Black could show chips or scuffs much more easily than other colors do. I’d probably avoid it if you’re OCD about that kind of stuff.

One thing I noticed about Space Black that bothers me when I looked at it in the store, that I can’t ever unsee: the very slight color difference between the top case and the keyboard inlay. If the keyboard inlay truly disappeared seamlessly into the case, it would make space black so much better imo.

I worried my space black M4 MBP would chip or that the colour would rub off. It likes fingerprints a bit more than I wish it did, but apart from that it’s gorgeous. Space black for me. Make it two. ;)
I’ll admit I really like the color, way more in person than I do based on photos of it—which I’ve seen vary from actually black to a weird brownish-gray. But like I said above, that case-keyboard contrast thing I just can’t unsee. Glad to hear you’re not having issues with scratches though.

I have space black, just love the color. Space black for me too.
All fingerprints, scratches (cause of my watch) or rubbed off color doesn't interest me, it's a tool to use and since I use it daily it doesn't bother me. My next mbp will be space black or if available space gray.

The Space Black shows wear and you can see the aluminum coming thru on the edges of my iPad Pro and a bit on the front edge of my MacBook Pro. Back to the silver for my upgrades.

I prefer the look of the space black but not its functionality.

I'd opt for silver given those two options (my current M4 MBP is silver) but if Apple brings a few colors to the Pro line I'd have to give those some consideration.

I felt that Space Gray had a good run but I was ready for something different with the M4s, so I switched to the Space Black and haven't regretted it once. The silver has felt dated for a while now, and I prefer darker colors for my gear.

Normal wear and tear shows up more readily because of the contrast between the black finish and the bare metal underneath, or the oil of a fingerprint on the matte finish. But that's an issue only for the neurotics, so stay with the gray shades.

Have the M4 pro in space black and love it. It’s a lot more durable than I thought it would be after all the talk about scuffing. Have a tiny scuff by the charging port that’s barely visible. Looks as good as new overall. Would definitely get it again.

Same here

I got space black, it’s a nice and dark colour.

Even though it chips or scratches easily my Mac has no scratch at all and I clean off the hand prints
