I have had my Macbook Pro for a couple of weeks now (first ever Mac) and generally have been very pleased. Love Mac OS X. I have the glossy samsung screen on mine and I don't think I am suffering from the yellow issue that some people have noticed - although the bottom part of the screen is 'slightly' darker than the top - but very diificult to notice day-to-day. However my screen does have an appearance of glitter - almost like someone has dropped glitter all over the screen. Most noticeable on large areas of white - just doesn't appear flat. Before this laptop I had a 17" Rock laptop - which although was no where near as bright as the MBP the whites did appear solid. Is this just my screen - or has anyone else notice this?

It would be helpful if you can post a couple pictures showing the problem.

I think it is going to be difficult to get a good picture of what I am describing here. As I said - the screen looks evenly lit to me, not yellow (from what I can tell) and very bright. It is just a glitter/sparkly effect across the entire screen - especially noticeable on large areas of white. Didn't have this with a previous laptop. I don't know whether mine is faulty, whether it is a 'feature' of the new LED backlit screens or whether it is just because they are so much brighter that it shows this effect. I hope someone knows what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean.

U got the matte screen??

Just be thankful that it is not as bad as the older gen MacBook Pros.

Its the glossy samsung I have. So this is a 'feature' of all new Macbook Pros - regardless of manufacturer or coating?
