I've looked around the forum (which has been very helpful in other situations), but haven't been able to find someone else having my exact problem.
I ordered my 15" MBP 2.4 early November and have been using it for about a month. Until yesterday the Superdrive had been working perfectly. However, it now does not recognize non-audio CDs (i.e. data/program CDs). It plays DVDs and audio CDs just fine, not the case for anything else. If I enter anything other than a DVD or audio CD the machine tries 3 times to read the CD (3 distinct attempts, of which I've read about on other sites) before spitting out the CD.
I've already tried repairing disk permissions to no avail. This is actually my first Mac and, besides this (frustrating) issue, I'm in love with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
