Wow...

Well, This is now Episode Three!!

Hopefully, the final chapter.

I spent a further 2 hours on the phone with apple support today and was basically told it would be a repair job but best phone the store.. I did so and was told the same.

On explaining that this would be the second time it was repaired and with the machine being for business use I could not afford it to keep breaking. He sympathised and left me on hold to see what he could do... After about five minutes he came back saying he was checking some stuff and would ring me back...

2 minutes later I recieved a phonecall from him saying it was all arranged and I could come down and collect a replacement MBP and he was sorry for all the hastle..

So I goes to collect tonightt and out comes my new MBP. Previously I had the 15" with the 256mb graphics. Doing a lot of work on Aperture and other graphical programs I was rather dismayed when a MBP comes out with only 128mb graphics.. After 2 hours arguing with 3 members of staff I am eventually told by the manager that this would be the replacement offered unless I wanted to pay £350 to upgrade to the 256 model.

Eventually settling I goes to the counter where another member of staff is put in charge of the take over. He is a nice chap and has a laugh and a joke with me and really lightens my mood. He flicks through and says "I over heard your arguing, let me see what I can do for you" he pops out and says I can sort out your update to the 256mb for £115 if you like.. I was interested but reluctant to pay more so I declined..

Eventually just before finishing "I just have to go get someone higher to authorise this" then leaves. He pops back out with a different MBP box. And says, Glossy wasn't it not matte... I agree and he says. "This one here is the 256mb one. I'm able to swap to this one for you if you like... BUT... You have to take out apple care for it. Wait though, we're willing to give it you at student price of £55" this time, I accepted.

So i'm now sat here typing on a brand new MBP, 2.33ghz, 2gb ram, 120gb hard drive and 256mb graphics ram.. I'm happy, and Apple have kept me on board :)
