Hi, I am requesting your advice regarding port compatibility.

I am planning to buy lg-29UM69G (https://www.lg.com/in/monitors/lg-29UM69G), monitor. It has a USB-C port.

I am using a MacBookPro 2017 with Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Will I be able to connect my Mac to this LG monitor directly without an adapter?

Thank you.

Yes, the MacBook Pro will transmit audio/video via the Thunderbolt 3 ports.

Here's the excerpt from the LG monitor's manual on connecting it via USB C.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, it works! lg-29UM69G (USB-C Port) connects with the MacBookPro 2017 with Thunderbolt 3 port directly without any adapters or converters.

There is one thing to be noted. The cable that comes with MAC does not support the audio and video signals. It can be used only for charging the MAC. So I had to purchase a cable (Type-C to Type-C Power Delivery Cable Upto 100W).
