Except for Touch-Id and normal function keys, how often do you use the touch bar?

I like the Touch-Id and use it to unlock my Mac. And, I use it to do normal function key things like hitting F7 as well as adjusting the volume, etc. Aside from that, I can't recall ever using it. How about others? Do you find it useful or not?

I turned the app-specific settings off myself.

I never thought I would use it but I actually use it all the time. I have mine set up to always display my chosen controls and never the app-specific ones. I hate remembering key combinations so it's useful for me. I've got mine configured with: screen brightness, screen capture, show desktop, music track controls, volume controls, lock button.

I use it on final cut, but that's because I am not yet familiar with their shortcuts.

On adobe software(I don't know if they are available yet), I've never look at the touch bar since I pretty much know all of the short cuts.

Had my MBP for a few days and so far besides adjusting volume/brightness in one swipe, Touch ID, sleep, and default app-specific functions, I've been using it with Better Touch Tool for

- app switching (nice if you have a lot of apps open since you can tap the icon rather than scroll to it)
- seeing estimated remaining time on battery
- restarting wi-fi in one tap
- bluetooth on/off
- emptying trash
- opening Windows 10 in Parallels
- one-tap regional screenshots
- starting certain apps
- opening websites in Safari from anywhere
- music stuff
- custom macros to automate things in unsupported apps

I've seen more clever stuff from others that automate things using Automator, AppleScript, IFTTT, etc. There's no shortage of uses. It just depends on your awareness of its capabilities and your needs. I didn't know how much I could do until I saw other people's customization.
