Howdy All, I've just picked up a new MacBook Pro 1.83Ghz and I'm really happy with it, the screen is much bigger than I thought and it's just soooooo nice to look at :)

One thing concerns me though, the heat at the bottom of the machine, towards the back is extremely high; it's nearly too hot too touch. That can't be a good thing?!?

Has anyone else experienced this with their MBP's?

There are several threads on this topic already.

Basically, the PowerBooks and MacBook Pros vent the heat through the back and the bottom of the case. Since the case is made of aluminium it acts as a big heatsink.

That's a good thing!

when the fans kick on on my PB it gets cool quite fast. Also, when there is some airflow it seems to stay pretty cool also. In my computer room when I turn off the overhead fan, the PB starts to get warm, and when it is on, even at the lowest level, it stays pretty cool.
