I'm having an issue with my MacBook Pro, 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2GB Ram. It runs perfectly, but about every 5th time I boot it, and login, it is so slow it's unusable. top / activity monitor shows no strange CPU usage or RAM usage, top shows ~ 90% idle CPU.

It is so slow I can't even get it to shutdown, so I manually power it off, then boot it back up and it runs perfectly.

I was having this issue when using tiger, and recently upgraded to leopard and the issue still exists.

The only two things I could think that may cause this issue is VMWare Fusion or the iStat hardware monitors loaded in my toolbar.

I thought I'd check to see if anyone else experienced this issue before I start uninstalling applications.

Thanks for any help in advance.
