Macbook Pro wifi problem

I'm having a strange problem with my wifi and wondering if anyone else has experienced this or has any suggestions. For some reason my macbook pro regularly won't automatically connect to the wifi at my house. It's a linksys/cisci e800 router and the SSID is broadcasting but when I open my laptop it just searches for a connection and never finds mine. I have to turn wifi off and back on several times before it finds my wifi and connects. I've even tried clicking Join Other Network and typing the SSID and password in, even though it's remembered, but it says the network can't be found until eventually turning wifi off and back on enough makes it find my network. The weird thing is, I have about 6 other wifi devices at my house and they all find my network fine all the time. And my macbook finds other networks fine all the time as well. There's just something with my wifi and my macbook.

Have you checked to see if there is a software update for your router? I haven't had a connection problem but I updated software on my netgear router and safari is faster on my MBP.

Yea, I upgraded to the latest firmware with the same result. Thanks for the suggestion.

Not sure if this will solve the issue but try this, remove the network from System Preferences->Network, repair permissions, reset SMC and PRAM, then add back in the network.

I have a similar problem. Sometimes when I turn my MBP on, it will not connect to my WFi. I only have to turn it off and back on though. It then connects immediately and stays connected through multiple sleep/wake cycles. It only fails maybe 1 out of 10 power cycles.

A LOT of people are having that problem after going to Yosemite. Long thread on here some where. People are waiting on a fix.

This problem has just started for me since I installed the latest security update. I can find and join other wifi networks, only not mine, which my other devices join without issue. I've restarted several times and I still can't see my wifi network...

I've found the only thing that makes it connect is turning wifi off and back on a number of times. Eventually it finds my network and connects. Very annoying.

FWIW, what happens to me on a new MBA is that it takes a long time (about a minute) to connect to my WiFi network.

Both my iPhone and iPad mini connect immediately.

*waiting for a fix*.
