My Macbook Pro will not save a .pdf from Word to my flash drive. It will save it as a .docx file, but not a .pdf, which is what I need to save files as. Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Can you save it to your local drive and the just move it over?

Yes, that works. It is an inconvenience, and I often forget that I haven't actually saved onto my flash drive and then I don't have what I need. This only recently started happening; within the past few months.

Try another app to see if that behaves the same way - try to narrow down the potential causes, i.e., OS X or MS Word

smarttechpro solved the answer in another thread. You have to change the name of your external hard drive and internal hard drive can not have the same name. So if you have 2 untitled drives win your computer it won't work.
