Hey Everyone,
I have a Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2010 that will not turn on and I was hoping someone could lead me in the right direction here.
The magsafe is bright green. The battery indicator lights up to 3 lights.
Here's what I've tried:
None of these have been successful.
I did notice something odd with the magsafe though. When it's plugged in, the indicator is bright green as I mentioned and I hear a very faint ticking noise near the magsafe connector and when I hold the power button the ticking speeds up.
I got closer to the brick and I hear almost like a faint zapping noise like the power's not being converted properly or something. I tried an 85w and 60w and both make this noise with this Macbook Pro.
These same magsafe chargers work with my other Macbooks and Macbook Pro's perfectly.
If anyone can help steer me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it because I'm stumped right now.
Could it be the DC jack needs to be replaced?

Here's what I've tried:
- Disconnecting the battery, holding the power button for 5 secs and reinstalling the battery.
- Removing 1 ram stick and moving them to different slots.
- Removing the magsafe, Holding the power button for 10 secs then plugging the magsafe back in.
- Tried powering on without the battery installed.
- Jumping the power pads.
- SMC Reset.
None of these have been successful.
